Interact with your Windows desktop and your applications and use
annotation tools to enhance your presentation. Take notes using the
electronic flipchart, share applications and ideas across different locations
with video conferencing software, data conferencing software such as
Windows NetMeeting, or even share web browsing.
Our range of interactive whiteboards comes in three sizes, 48”, 60” and 78” diagonal active areas. These are called PRESENTA board S, PRESENTA board M and PRESENTA board L respectively.
Each board is supplied with two interactive pens, Px software, USB and
serial cables, power supply, wall-mount bracket kit, user guide. The PRESENTA board S includes a desktop stand which is attached. Various optional accessories are available including a floor stand, serial and USB extension cables, wireless adaptor and carry bags.
The boards connect to a Windows based computer via either a serial or
USB connection.
Background
The Promethean Technologies group has over 20 years experience in
designing and manufacturing digitizer products for use in design, mapping
and graphics applications. Based on this well-established, proven
technology, the PRESENTA board has been updated to meet the
requirements of all group presentations whether in classrooms, meeting
rooms, training rooms etc. The PRESENTA board is manufactured in a
100,000 square foot purpose built plant in Blackburn, Lancashire.
PRESENTA board Technology
The PRESENTA board uses the latest advances in digital electromagnetic sensing technology. A small magnetic field is created over the surface
of the board, which is activated by holding the specially designed pen in proximity of the board’s surface. The pen reflects a signal back to the
board, which is then sent to the computer as an X/Y co-ordinate.
This enables the computer to understand where on the surface of the board
the user is pointing, thus tracking pen movement just like a mouse. Use of
this digital technology enables fast, stable and accurate tracking.
To facilitate this technology, a special pen has been designed, which is ergonomic, lightweight and cordless. Based on the Rotring Artpen, our pen
has been designed to offer comfort and balance to the user, giving an
intuitive, natural feel to every presentation. The Pen is battery-free so there
is no need to worry about charging or replacing batteries. It supports both
left and right mouse clicks and, used in conjunction with Px software,
enables users to have full control over their presentation including multiple
pen colour selection, from a single device. Two pens are supplied with each board and additional ones may be purchased thereafter.
To enable the PRESENTA board to be used over a long period in harsh environments, it is manufactured with a tough Formica surface. The
absence of a soft membrane type surface means that it is not touch
sensitive and so cannot be used with the finger (or any other object). The boards surface is matt based and is ideal for use with digital projectors.
This surface prevents projector "hot spots" and screen glare from reflecting back towards the audience.
The PRESENTA board can be mounted on the wall or, for added mobility,
onto the easy-to-assemble stand. Once positioned, getting started with the PRESENTA board is simple.
