The Challenge
The electrical team within the Gateshead Housing Company installed data cabling for many years. However, due to a lack of funding, training and support with equipment and tools, it was decided that a competent contractor was needed.
One issue arose with a data cable not transferring data correctly. KBR were
contacted through the Gateshead Housing Company procurement framework
and, with all the information requested as part of the tender process, it was
noted our Risk Assessments and Method Statements ticked all the boxes of
the Gateshead Housing Company’s check sheet.
How We Helped
KBR tested the problematic cable and identified the optimal replacement. To
resolve the problem, we provided a Multimode OM3 fibre-optic cable
installation between the ground floor cabinet and the cabinet in the loft.
With decades of experience carrying out cable installations in a wide variety
of settings, our Enhanced DBS-certified engineers were able to complete the
job in a timely fashion with minimal disruption to Gateshead Housing
Company’s regular activity.
